Description
1949 Norton 16H*
For sale is my rather lovely Norton 16H.
The motorcycle is in excellent condition for its age. The pictures tell the story.
I have recently fully serviced it and I replaced the clutch plates at that time.
The motorcycle runs as well as it looks. Its a very easy bike to start. The engine runs as it should, no smoke or rattles. Gearbox is perfect. The only nod to modernity is that I replaced the front and rear lights with high quality LED bulbs. None of the fittings were changed so you can revert back to incandescent bulbs if you prefer. There is little drain on the electrics now so the bike continues to charge with the lights fully on, with visibility greatly improved.
The bike has "historic" vehicle class so is MoT and tax exempt. The V5 is in my name.
The bike gets used, it is not a museum piece, but considering this, its in lovely condition with some nice brass parts and benefits from the iconic Norton Roadholder forks.
I can get the bike delivered to anywhere in mainland UK for £199 by a very professional motorcycle courier, at the buyers expense.
I will only accept a bank transfer or cash on pickup as paypal fees are too high, unless the buyer wishes to pay the additional charges.
Its a very honest, well looked after motorcycle. The location where the bike was photographed is where the bike is kept, so very nice dry conditions.
This is a very reluctant sale but I need to thin down my collection.
This is an excellent opportunity to purchase a very original, unmolested Norton 16H.
Just to confirm that the bike has matching engine and frame numbers and corresponds to that which is in the log book.
