Description
Pre war - Late 1920's Triumph This bike was built up by a previous owner using genuine Triumph parts from various bikes of the period. The date code of the engine is November 1926. This type of engine was used in models P, Q, QA, N & NP. The model P starting off in 1925. The Triumph Model P was an iconic bike of the time. Classic Bikes: "A landmark machine in the development of the motorcycle in Britain, Triumph's Model P debuted at the 1924 Motor Cycle Show. A no-frills, side valve-engined model, the Model P was a quality machine at a rock bottom price and it was a runaway success. Output from Triumph's production line was soon running at an astonishing 1,000 machines per week, and the Model P's arrival undoubtedly hastened the demise of many a minor manufacturer. Production continued until the decade's end, by which time the Model P had spawned a number of derivatives, models N, Q and QA." Vintage and interesting Club bike project - a Triumph 494cc Model P 'tribute bike'. Engine number: 244077 ESA. Frame number: 2010072. Gearbox number: 601692. Crankcase number: 12090A Type KSA1. This bike is sold as a Club bike project to finish off. It is 'as collected' and has been sitting in shed storage 'as is' for over 10 years. Parts are still readily available. The engine was originally a side-valve, but the head has been modified to OHV. The numbers indicate the Triumph frame dates from 1928 to 1930. It is from a Model N deluxe / NL or NSD. The frame originally would have had a saddle tank. The frame has been modified to take a flat tank. The fuel tank has been fabricated to fit the frame. Most of the hard work has been done on building this bike. It requires sourcing / fabrication of components such as exhaust and lighting to bring it to completion. It would make a great bike for Club rallies. The bike is sold on an 'as is / where is' basis with all faults. The bike has been brought out of storage and washed down. It is sold as a vintage build project. There is no warranty expressed or implied. There are no refunds. Images form part of the description. Payment by Bank Deposit, or Cash on Pickup is available.
